HOCKEY SKILLS

Hockey specific training is offered for the athlete looking to focus on improving techniques in stickhandling, and shooting.

A synthetic ice surface  provides the space for small groups to work on stickhandling and shooting in classes specific to each skill.

Time devoted to these skills are valuable to the athlete and team they play for earning ice time and roster spots for the player willing to do the work.

STICKHANDLING & SHOOTING

Our small group stickhandling and shooting classes are conducted on synthetic ice in order to provide the athlete with the most realistic environment without the expense of being on the ice. These classes focus on the small details of shooting and stickhandling that often get overlooked. Details such as hand placement, grip, stick-length, and stance are all analyzed to make the athlete as efficient as possible. Our coaches also address the variety of stickhandling positions and biomechanical motions that will teach the player to control the puck with precision.

Along with stickhandling, our coaches will examine and teach the basic shooting techniques that will enable the athlete to shoot with precision and power. Areas such as weight transfer, puck position, hand placement, and follow through are all addressed. Our expert coaches will reinforce the basics as it relates to a wrist shot, snap shot, backhand shot, and slap shot. Putting it all together is another priority for our coaches! Making the athletes comfortable shooting in stride off of either foot with quickness, precision, and power is paramount!
